Challenge & Approach
To penetrate an already saturated news app market a modern, simple and effective UI needed to be developed. To challenge our designers even more the app needed to show ads in a way that does not make the reading experience bad. Starting with a one month concepting and prototyping sprint, in close cooperation with the customer, the first version of the app was released in just 2 months.
For the first time there is a news app that looks and feels different from the other main stream news apps. Users have taken the new design well and user amounts are steadily growing. For the first time MTV can serve Android users with a proper mobile application. Development continues for the Android version and also iOS and WP versions of the same application. This project has been a starting point for the customer to understand the benefits of on site continuous development.
